How much does a dental filling cost in Karachi?

A standard tooth-coloured (composite) filling costs PKR 9,000 at our clinic. Larger cavities or fillings involving multiple surfaces are assessed individually — you always receive a written quote before treatment. We do not place silver amalgam fillings; modern composites are safer, stronger and invisible.

What is the procedure for a tooth filling?

1. Numbing: local anaesthesia so you feel nothing.
2. Decay removal: the decayed tissue is removed with a high-speed handpiece; healthy tooth is preserved.
3. Shaping & bonding: composite resin is layered in, shaped to your bite, and hardened with a curing light.
4. Polish: the filling is polished smooth so it feels like your own tooth.

How long do composite fillings last?

A well-placed composite filling lasts 7–10 years on average, often longer with good oral hygiene. Avoid chewing ice or very hard foods on filled teeth, and come for six-monthly checkups so we can monitor the margins.

When does a cavity need a root canal instead of a filling?

If decay has reached the nerve (deep, lingering pain; pain at night; sensitivity to heat), a filling is no longer enough and root canal treatment is needed to save the tooth. This is why we advise treating cavities early — a PKR 9,000 filling today prevents a PKR 20,000 root canal tomorrow.
